Heartland Institute Reacts to Fracking Ban
in Vermont

The Fish and Wildlife Committee in the Vermont House voted yesterday to permanently ban hydraulic fracturing in the state. Similar legislation is under consideration in the state Senate.
According to the state geologist, Vermont has no known resources that could be developed through fracking, and no companies have taken action to pursue hydraulic fracturing in the state.

Art By Zack Pontious

Featured artist, Zack Pontious, has created this art piece with his
inspiration being the personal impact that Hydrofracking has had on his life.
After seeing the growth in wells, just in this last year, Zack felt compelled
to read through as many anti-fracking articles he could find and
express his grief through his art.

Here Zack has ironed plastic grocery bags together, scanning them,
and digitally manipulating them to give the image of a desolate and slashed
up topography. Representing his interpretation of "fracking."
