Gas Leasing practices: Info Provided to Share Holders Differs from that for Landowners

The following document regarding gas leasing practices provides important insight into issues to be considered regarding leasing and what is often omitted in leasing offers. The entire content of “Drilling Doublespeak” can be obtained for download at the following link:

Marcellus Shale

Here is a good resource provided by Brother Dean.

Baseline Water Testing and Marcellus Shale Drilling

Water Testing and Marcellus Shale Drilling
Those of us who use natural water sources (wells, springs, ponds) should have a baseline test of water quality completed prior to the start of gas drilling in your locality. In the likley event that your water becomes contaminated as a result of the gas drilling activities, a baseline testing will be helpful in challenging the gas company responsible for ...the drilling. It is important to remember that the usual tests for bacteria contaminants is not sufficient and the testing should be completed by an EPA certified lab in your state. I have been compiling information on water testing and am willing to forward it to anyone interested in this info. Just send me an email.

The Status of EPA's Support for Science Regarding Hydrofracking

You don't have to read between the lines to realize that the EPA will provide little resistance...or substantive research.
EPA Conclusion for Wyoming

This industry has arrived in Appalachia. You can predict the future of these hills by observing the empirical evidence now emerging from previously fractured formations 'over yonder'. Demand an immediate ban on hydrofracking in your area until sufficient scientific data are available to ensure environmental and cultural security.

West Virginia Fracking Bill to Pass...unless we do something!
WVU Hydrofracking Research
Ithica Now and Forever

The worst environmental effects of hydrofracking the Marcellus and Utica shales are yet to come.
Illegal Flares

Illegal flares (in this case lasting 108 days) only scratch the surface of the unregulated environmental damage that will continue to escalate if something isn't done to stop this destructive practice.
